**Job summary**
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us in New Delhi, India. In this role, you will use your business background to increase engagement and interact with high level secretaries and government officials. You’ll need to have a technical background that enables you to easily interact with software developers and architects. You should have a consistent record of business performance and demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and build consensus.
**Primary job responsibilities**
+ Engage with various stakeholders like senior bureaucrats, advisors, and ministers of the central and state governments in order to build, transform, and create a roadmap and vision of ministries and state government departments through sector reforms
+ Lead large opportunities and deals and manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally for achieving business goals
+ Engage with customers at the C-level
+ Find and generate new business contacts and connections with potential customers, market and industry ecosystem leaders, and policy developers
**Required skills**
+ 10-15 years of business development experience in the technology industry focused on government customers
+ Several years of experience of positioning cloud services to customers
+ Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through
+ Understanding of government procurement and contract procedures
+ Excellent communicator with ability to quickly earn the respect of the team and customers
+ Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
+ Act in accordance with vision, mission, and established goals
+ Technical and analytical, and possess several years of experience in business development in the government segment
+ Very successful record in customer facing roles and engagements with very discerning ability for business understanding, market and technology trends, qualifying and nurturing new opportunities, conceptualization of solutions or needs, presentation skills, and anchoring and managing large deals engagement with government
+ Excellent ability to lead discussions and bring expertise and vision through experience and knowledge of government domain, markets, industry, and technology trends
+ Excellent ability to understand market, business, and technology trends
+ Ability for understanding business requirements, solutions conceptualization, and development of value propositions and go-to-market planning
